Dorothy Lynas PAC Programs

After School Programs

Dorothy Lynas PAC After School programs are selected by a Committee whose mandate is to research and secure relevant quality after school programming for our students.  The Committee is composed of volunteer parent representatives who are committed to providing programming for Dorothy Lynas students.

The selection of programs is made carefully and mindfully.  It is influenced by many factors, such as age of participants, pillars of interest, parent, student and administration feedback as well as room availability.  All of the programs are gender neutral.

Dorothy Lynas PAC is hoping to offer Ski / Snowboard lessons on Mount Seymour to our students in January/February 2019. The tentative dates are on Wednesdays January 16, 23, 30 and February 6, 2019.  We need to have parent volunteers to commit their time in advance in order to offer these lessons.

These lessons are run by Mount Seymour’s certified instructors, are designed to provide a fully-supervised, safe and encouraging lesson for ski and snowboard students of all ability levels. It is great value and loads of fun!

Registration is limited to students in Grades 4-7 and runs on a “first come, first served” basis.  This program fills up quickly.  More registration information will be forthcoming once we have enough parent volunteers.

As with other school programs, parents with students registered in this program will be asked to volunteer for at least one ‘shift’ during the session.  Without volunteers we cannot run these lessons.

Please submit your volunteer availability to the PAC lesson co-ordinator at  Please indicate if you can ski or not (it is not necessary).  Our volunteer jobs include: administration, student attendance, assisting students at school to get ready, supervising students on bus, assisting students to get into their gear once at Mount Seymour, acting as a ‘go to’ person for Mount Seymour Staff during the lessons.
